I am Dr. Shiraz Khurana, Assistant Professor in the School of Information and Communication Technology, Gautam Buddha University. My work spans machine learning, augmented reality, virtual reality, computer vision and emerging technologies.

Academic profile
Dr. Shiraz Khurana is an academician and researcher with over 15 years of teaching and research experience in India and abroad. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. Previously, he has held senior academic positions at Sharda University and Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology, where he also led the AR/VR Studio and coordinated emerging technology programs. He has also worked internationally as an IT Lecturer at the Kirirom Institute of Technology, Cambodia, gaining extensive cross-cultural academic exposure. Dr. Khurana holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kurukshetra University with specialization in Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks. His core expertise spans Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Machine Learning, Cognitive Networks, and Game Development, with strong command over programming in Java, Python, and C# and hands-on experience with Unity, and emerging immersive technologies. He has published 7 patents (out of which 2 are granted), 25 Research papers. He has also delivered 20+ invited talks and workshops on Game Development, AR/VR, and Machine Learning across premier institutions including IIT, NITTTR and other international forums.
Beyond academics, Dr. Khurana has led industry projects in Deep Learning for Solar Power Plant Optimization (Japan) and Virtual Reality-based Property Walkthrough Applications (Cambodia). His contributions have been recognized through awards at national hackathons, including 1st Prize at Hackathon-2020 (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare) and 2nd Prize at Hackathon-2017 (Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship).
